(شر) واحدة من عظام السِّلسلة العظميَّة الظهريّة الممتدّة من الرأس إلى العُصْعُص، وهي خرزات منضَّدَة بعضها فوق بعض وفيها النّخاع الشَّوكي وتتفرَّع خلالها الأعصاب الشَّوكيَّة، عددها في الإنسان ثلاث وثلاثون فقارة سبْعٌ في العنق، واثنتا عشرة في الظَّهر بين الأضلاع، وخمس في البطن، وخمس في العجزُ، وأربع في العُصْعُص.
