مذبحة يقترفها طاغٍ للتخلّص من بعض معارضيه تثبيتًا لأقدامه في الحكم وقد أطلق عليها لفظ حمّام لكثرة ما يُراق فيها من الدماء
حمَّام بخار : تعريض الجسم لأبخرة ساخنة لإسالة العرق وإزالة الشحوم
حمَّام زيت : تدليك الشعر بأنواع من الزيوت الدافئة لتغذيته
حمَّام السِّباحَة : حوض كبير للسِّباحة
حمَّام شمس : تعريض الجسم بعد تعريته للشَّمس
حمَّام عامّ : مفتوح لعامّة النّاس
حمَّام كبريتيّ : الاغتسال في المياه الكبريتيّة
ليفة الحمَّام : الإسفنجة.

A massacre perpetrated by a tyrant to get rid of some opponents to consolidate his rule, called ḥammām due to the abundance of blood shed
ḥammām bukhār (steam bath): exposing the body to hot vapors to induce sweating and remove fat
ḥammām zayt (oil bath): massaging the hair with various warm oils to nourish it
ḥammām al-sibāḥah (swimming pool): a large pool for swimming
ḥammām shams (sunbath): exposing the unclothed body to the sun
ḥammām ‘āmm (public bath): open to the general public
ḥammām kibrītiyy (sulfur bath): bathing in sulfurous water
līfat al-ḥammām (bath sponge): the sponge.
