لَيْل

Root: ل ي ل

ج لَيَالٍ : ما يعقب النهارَ من الظّلام وهو من غروب الشّمس إلى طلوعها، يقابل النَّهار

Pl. لَيَالٍ (layālin); The darkness that follows the daytime, from sunset to sunrise, opposed to daytime (nahār)

ابن الليل (Son of the night): Thief
ابن الليالي (Son of nights): The moon
بسط الليل رداءه (The night spread its cloak): Descended, spread
بنات الليل (Daughters of the night): Worries and whispering thoughts, a group of prostitutes
صدر الليل (Breast of the night): Its beginning
صلاتا الليل (The two night prayers): Maghrib and Isha prayers
ضرب الليل عليه (The night lengthened over him): Lengthened, extended
ليلاً (At night): Every night
ليل التمام (The full night): The longest night of winter
ليل بهيم / ليل فاحim (Pitch-dark / Jet-black night): Extremely black, with no light until morning
ليل نهار (Night and day): Continuously and constantly
نشر الليل أجنحته (The night spread its wings): Approached, settled.

اللَّيلُ

اسم سورة من سور القرآن الكريم، وهي السُّورة رقم 92 في ترتيب المصحف، مكِّيَّة، عدد آياتها إحدى وعشرون آية.

The name of a Surah in the Holy Quran, which is Surah number 92 in the Mushaf, Meccan, consisting of twenty-one verses.

اللَّيلان

اللَّيل والنَّهار.

🇬🇧 Translation:

The night and the day.

" سافر ليلاً
صلى لله ركعتين بالليل
{وَمِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَتَهَجَّدْ بِهِ نَافِلَةً لَكَ}
{وَالْفَجْرِ. وَلَيَالٍ عَشْرٍ} : هي عشر ذي الحجة أو العشر التي ذكرها اللهُ في قصة موسى، أو العشر الأُوَل من المحرّم "

" He traveled by night
He performed two rak'ahs for Allah at night
{And from [part of] the night, pray with it as additional [worship] for you}
{By the dawn. And [by] ten nights} : They are the ten days of Dhu al-Hijjah, or the ten mentioned by Allah in the story of Moses, or the first ten of Muharram "
