🇬🇧 Translation:
Sing. Mu'tazili: (Philosophy) Mu'tazilah; a sect of Muslim theologians/philosophers considered the first school of Islamic speculative theology (Kalam). They relied on logic and analogy in discussing theological issues, originated in Basra in the late first Hijri century, and derive their name from the withdrawal of their leader Wasil ibn Ata from the circle of Al-Hasan al-Basri when Al-Hasan was asked about the status of the committer of a major sin.
