راهنَ يُراهن، رِهانًا ومُراهَنةً، فهو مُراهِن، والمفعول مُراهَن

اتَّفقا على أن يكون للسَّابِق أو للفائز منهما مالٌ ونحوُه يأخذُه من الخاسر

🇬🇧 Translation:

They agreed that the first (winner) or successful one of them would have money or the like that he takes from the loser (To bet/Wager).

• مجموعة الأموال التي يساهم بها المشتركون، وتمنح كجائزة للفائز أو لعدد من الفائزين
• الرِّهان المشترك : رهان على السِّباقات الذي بواسطته تقسَّم الأرباح والمكاسب إلى نسب يراهن عليها انفراديًّا
• خيل الرِّهان : التي يراهن على سباقها بمال أو غيره، يستحقه صاحب السابق منها
• عند الرِّهان تعرف السَّوابقُ [مثل] : يُضرب في إثبات صدق القول بالعمل
• هما كفرسي رِهان [مثل] : يُضرب للمتساويَيْن في الفضل وغيره
• وكيل المراهنات : من يقبل ويدفع المراهنات على جياد السباق مثلاً

🇬🇧 Translation:

• The total money contributed by the participants, and given as a prize to the winner or a number of winners
• Pari-mutuel betting: betting on races in which profits and winnings are divided into ratios bet on individually
• Racehorses/Betting horses: horses whose race is bet on with money or otherwise, which is deserved by the owner of the first one among them
• At the time of betting (testing) the frontrunners are known [proverb]: said to prove the truth of words with actions
• They are like two racehorses (equal) [proverb]: said of two people who are equal in virtue and others
• Bookmaker: one who accepts and pays bets on racehorses, for example (Stake/Racehorse/Bookmaker).
