ج أَرانِبُ وأَرانٍ : (حن) حيوان ثَدْيِيٌّ صغير؛ من الفصيلة الأرنبيّة ورتبة القوارض، طويل الأذنين قصير الذيل، يداه أقصر من رجليه، يُؤكل لحمُه، يغطي جسمه فرو ناعم، وهو كثير التوالد سريع الجري، ومنه البرِّيّ والداجن، يُضرب به المثل في الجبن، يطلق على الذكر والأنثى، وقد يقال أرنبة للذكر والأنثى كذلك

Plural: aranib and arani : (Zoology) A small mammal; of the Leporidae family and Lagomorpha order, long-eared and short-tailed, its forelegs are shorter than its hind legs, its meat is edible, its body is covered with soft fur, it is highly prolific and runs fast, some are wild and some domestic, it is used as a proverb for cowardice, it is applied to male and female, and arnabah may be said for male and female as well (Rabbit/Hare).
