(حد) سماع العلم كما ينبغي أن يكون، وفهم معناه، والاحتفاظ به إلى أن يحتاج إليه في درس أو فتوى، وهو نوعان : ضبط صدر وضبط سطر، وقسّمه بعضُهم إلى ضبط ظاهر : وهو ضبط الحديث بمعناه من حيث اللُّغة، وضبط باطن : وهو فقه متن الحديث من حيث تعلُّق الحكم الشرعيّ به.

محضر الضَّبْط
(قن) الإفادة الخطِّيَّة التي يشهد فيها رجالُ الأمن بما قيل أمامهم أو ما شاهدوه وقاموا به من تنفيذ مذكِّرات المحاكم والأحكام.

(Law) A written report in which security personnel testify to what was said in front of them or what they witnessed and carried out in terms of executing court warrants and judgments (police report/minutes).
