ج أَذْرُع وذُرْعان :

فلانٌ واسع الذِّراع : واسع الخُلُق، مقتدر، شجاع
قابلني بذراعين مفتوحين : بكلِّ ترحاب
لوَى ذراعَه : أرغمه على عمل شيءٍ لا يريده
ما لي به ذراع : ما لي به طاقة.

I rely on you in hardships
Extending his arm : Ready for any cooperation, offering his hand for help
By span and cubit : With all power and maximum effort
Opened his arms to him : Welcomed him cordially
His arm became tight with the matter : Could no longer bear it
At arm's length : Very close, present, easy
He is a man of wide arm : Wide in character, capable, brave
Met me with open arms : With all welcome
Twisted his arm : Forced him to do something he does not want
I have no arm for it : I have no power for it.

يَد كلِّ حيوان

🇬🇧 Translation:

The foreleg of every animal.

مقياس يُقارب في طوله الذِّراع، يتراوح بين 55و 80 سم حسب البلد أو الشّيء المقيس وقد كانت هي الوحدة المعياريَّة لقياس الأقمشة وهي تعادل ياردة أو 36 بوصة

A unit of measure approximate in length to an arm, ranging between 55 and 80 cm depending on the country or measured object. It was the standard unit for measuring fabrics, equivalent to a yard or 36 inches.

ذراع يستعمل لتحريك عمود في حركة دائريّة، ويتكوّن من الساعد والمرفق وعمود الإدارة.

ذراع التَّوصيل

(فز) لوح أو قضيب مُعلَّق بإحدى النهايات لجزء آخر ينقل الحركةَ من جزء لآخر في الآلة.
