علم الحياة
(حي) علم يبحث في بنيان الكائنات الحيّة ووظائفها ومألفها الطبيعيّ، ونشأتها منذ أزمنة ما قبل التاريخ، وهو قسمان : علم الحيوان، وعلم النبات.

دورة الحياة
(حي) سلسلة من التطوُّرات والتغيُّرات التي من خلالها يمرُّ الكائن الحيّ في مرحلة تكوُّنه كلاقح مُخصَّب إلى مرحلة البلوغ التي قد يتكوّن فيها لاقح آخر.
