(سف) قول مركَّب من قضايا إذا سُلِّمَ بها لزم عنها لذاتها قول آخر، كما لو قلنا : العالم متغيّر وكلُّ متغيّر حادث، فالعالم إذن حادِث.

(فق) حَمْلُ فرْع على أصل لعِلّة مشتركة بينهما كالحُكم بتحريم شراب مُسْكر حَمْلاً على الخَمْر لاشتراكهما في عِلّة التَّحريم وهو الإسكار.

(Isl Jur) Analogical deduction (Qiyas): extending a ruling from a root case (aṣl) to a branch case (farʿ) due to an effective cause (ʿillah) common to both, such as ruling that an intoxicating drink is forbidden by analogy with wine because they share the same cause of prohibition, which is intoxication.

(لغ) ردُّ الشَّيء إلى نظيره وذلك بصياغة كلمات على أنماط كلمات أخرى موجودة

(Ling) Analogy: reducing a thing to its equivalent by coining words on the patterns of existing words.

(نف) عمل عقليّ يترتّب عليه انتقال الذِّهن من الكلِّيِّ إلى الجزئيِّ المندرج تحته، كما إذا انتقل الذِّهن من مفهوم أنّ زوايا كلِّ مثلّث تساوي زاويتين قائمتين إلى أن زوايا هذا المثلّث المرسوم أمامي الآن تساوي زاويتين قائمتين.

(Psych) Deductive reasoning: a mental operation resulting in the mind's transition from the universal to the particular subsumed under it, as when the mind transitions from the concept that the angles of every triangle equal two right angles to the conclusion that the angles of this triangle drawn before me now equal two right angles.

حالة من الاستدلال المنطقيّ مبنيّة على فرض أن المتشابهين في بعض النواحي لا بد من تشابههما في نواحٍ أخرى.
