Tahta sam'i an-nasi wabasarihim : openly, in the presence of people
Sa'a sam'an fa'asa'a ijabatan : did not hear well so answered wrongly
Sam'u al-ardhi wabasaruha : its length and width
Sam'an wata'atan : I heard what you said and will obey you (to hear is to obey)
Sam'uka ilayya : listen to me
Sam'un wata'atun : my command is heard and obeyed
Laqituhu bayna sam'i al-ardhi wabasariha : in an empty land with no one in it (Hearing).

Thaqilu as-sam'i : hard of hearing
Markazu takhzin sam'iyy : works using a telephone device (answering machine)
Murhafu as-sam'i : has a sensitive ear that catches weak vibrations
Wasa'ilu sam'iyyatun wabasariyyatun : depends on the senses of hearing and sight (Audio-visual).

حاسَّة السَّمع

إحدى الحواسّ الخمس الظَّاهرة، وهي حاسّة في الأذن تُدرك بها الأصوات

One of the five external senses, which is a sense in the ear by which sounds are perceived (Sense of hearing).

" {وَجَعَلَ لَكُمُ السَّمْعَ وَالأَبْصَارَ وَالأَفْئِدَةَ} "

🇬🇧 Translation:

" {waja'ala lakumu as-sam'a wal-absara wal-af'idata} (And He made for you hearing and vision and intellect) "
