ظرف مبهم لا يفهم معناه إلاّ بالإضافة لما بعده، يدلّ على ما هو لاحق وتالٍ، ويكون منصوبًا، أو مجرورًا، ويُبنى على الضمّ إن قطع عن الإضافة

بعد الخصام والجدل
فيما بعدُ : في وقت لاحق، في المستقبل
هذا يومٌ له ما بعده : يومٌ ينذر بالعواقب
وبَعْدُ/ أما بَعْدُ : عبارة تدلُّ على الانتقال من موضوع لآخر وشاع استعمالها في الرسائل والخطب ومُقدِّمات الكتب.
